Overview

Keypad Instruction

You can check the following list which introduces the IP phone's keypad in detail:

Power Indication LED

It will show the power status, it will be on if the phone is powered, off if the phone is not powered; and blink when someone calls in or there is a call on mute.

Hot Keys

In different interfaces, different functions of the hot keys.

Line Keys

These keys are for handling calls.

DTMF Keypad

Use the DTMF hard keys to enter numbers, letters and special characters. Depending on the selected input mode, you can enter digits, lower / upper case or special characters.

Navigation Keys

Use the navigation keys to navigate in the display menus and confirm/cancel actions.

Audio Device Control Keys

Use the audio device control keys to perform the following actions depending on your

phone type:

Volume Control: Adjust the volume of the handset, headset, speaker and ring tone.

Speaker Control: Allows for hands-free communication during calls.

Headset Control: Place and receive calls through an optionally connected headset.

Mute Control: Mute audio transmission locally during calls.

 

Hard Feature Keys

Message Key: Allow users to access the voicemail directly (also dialing ext 899 will do the same). This key lights up when there are un-opened messages.

Transfer Key: Press this key to send a call to another party.

Redial Key: Press to enter the Dialed Calls interface and choose a previous call to dial out.

LED Instruction

Line Keys

Icon Instruction

The IP Phone displays different kinds of icons on its LCD, you can refer to the following

table for their meanings:

Using the Phone

Making a Call

1. Picking up a Line

There are multiple ways to pickup a line to make an outbound call:

  • Press a Line Key
  • Press the Speaker Key
  • Press the Headset Key
  • Pick up the Handset

2. Dial an internal extension

An extension can be 3, 4 or 5 digit. See your Phonebooth Administrator for an internal list.

  • Pick up the line and dial the extension and
  • Either wait a few seconds for the phone to time out and dial or
  • Hit the "Send" or "#"

3. Dial a direct number

We allow 7 digit local calling (if you have setup your area code in the portal), 10 digit dialing and/or 11 digit dialing

  • Pick up the line and dial the phone number and
  • Either wait a few seconds for the phone to time out and dial or
  • Hit the "Send" or "#"

Answering a Call

  • If you are not on a call answer the same way you would pick up a line. (Line Key, Speaker Key, Headset Key or Lift the Handset)
  • If you are on another call, press the corresponding Line Key or the "OK" button to answer it. There is no need to put the other call on hold.
  • You can also press the  to deny the call.

Muting a Call

  • Press the  to mute the current call, the  will be shown on the LCD, and the power indication LED will blink.
  • Press the  again to un-mute the call.

Volume Adjustment

  • During the call you can push the  to adjust the call volume.

Putting a Call on Hold

  • Press the HOLD button to put your active call on hold and the corresponding Line Key will blink
  • If there is only one active call, press the HOLD key to retrieve it.
  • If there is multiple calls on hold, press the up/down button to highlight the call, and press HOLD to retrieve the call.

Checking Voice-mail

  • Call Extension 899 (enter your voicemail PIN)
  • Press MESSAGE (enter your voicemail PIN)

Conference Calling

  1. Press the CONF key during an active call
  2. The first call will be placed on hold. You will then hear dial-tone. Dial the next person you would like to include and Press "SEND" or "#"
  3. When the call is answered, press the CONF button, the conference will now include you and the other two parties.
  4. Hand up the call to disconnect all parties.

Transferring a Call

There are two types of transfers you can perform. Choose from bellow:

  1. Blind Transfer: A blind transfer is when you would like to transfer a caller to another person without announcing the call to them.
    • While on a call press the  button, you will then receive new dial-tone.
    • Dial the person you want to transfer the call to and press SEND or OK to dial out
    • Press  again or hang up while the phone is ringing to complete the transfer
  2. Attended Transfer: An attended transfer is when you would like to transfer a caller to another person and talk to the person before executing the transfer.
    • While on a call press the  button, you will then receive new dial-tone.
    • Dial the person you want to transfer the call to and press SEND or OK to dial out
    • Talk to the person you are transferring the call to
    • Press  again or hang up to complete the transfer

Forwarding Calls

We DO NOT support forwarding calls directly from the IP-phone. Please use the Find Me Follow Me settings in your Admin or User Portal to configure or activate forwarding rules. If you setup Forwarding on the IP-phone, calls will be automatically routed to your voice-mail.
